Well well fam. Crazy but AMAZING week. Oh my.
Monday we had a miracle. We had an appt with a less active Domonique, but when we passed her house, she wasnt home. We left a little note, and decided to pass another less active family in a different street. After a few seconds, we turn and see Dom! We got to go back to her house, share with her (and she shared sopapillas) and had a way cool experience. We invited her to read in the BofM everyday before her studies. And the next day, we randomly saw her in Internet and found that she did it! YAY!
Tues- April Fools! Hna Ayre and I wanted to do something a little crazy for the latinas, but we ended up not having time. So the craziest thing I did was write in my journal upside down that day. Ha ha ha. But it was a fun day: we got to visit the less active of the elders and help her with her english! Always fun. I also found out that Hna Ayre´s mom is named Kelli. Awkward…..ha ha. And lastly, when we were at correlation, we heard about the earthquake up north. And no, we didn’t feel anything. Wed or Thurs we felt a little temblor in the night time, right before sleeping. But it was pretty scary because all the missionaries along the coast had to leave their sectors for the tsunami warning. But we are all grateful that everything is okay. 🙂
Wed- We are visiting Ana a few times a week, she is a cute little lady (literally) but her fam has major problems. Like, all her adult sons do drugs, but in one lessons, she prayed to close and she asked that we could keep coming, even if she doesn’t go to church. Mostly, she’s just very alone, but that’s exactly why she needs the gospel and the rama (branch)! We also are still working with Katerine, but I don’t really know if there is much more we can do for her. She has been taught mostly everything, has came to church a few times, but still has some issues. Its just hard because she reads and prays, but is having a hard time recognizing her answer.
Thurs- We had our district meeting as a zone because the leaders had leadership council tues, so they taught us all they learned! They are always the best, because its tips and advice directly from Pres and Hna Warne! Later we had lunch with Cesar, the hippie vegetarian recent convert. But it was really yummy- spagetti and lots of veggies and a natural homemade juice. 🙂 We also gained 2 new investigators this day. And they are both family members of less active. And one miracle: One named Lorena is MARRIED. I can’t even tell you how big a deal that is.
Fri- Our zone conference. Yes, lots of meetings and conferences this week. We discussed a lot about Christ, his life and teachings, and also his attributes. And I got to give a talk on knowledge! Later, we had BEANS ON CHIPS for lunch, and that made me super trunky, just because I’ve never eaten that here! So yummy. Oh, and we also all got the flu shot. I was one of the only hnas that wasn’t flipping out.
Later in the day we had an interesting experience. We had to contact for about 2 or more hours, and no one was answering. But somehow it passed really fast, and the people that did answer were pretty receptive! That night the elders had a baptism and I got to see Genesis, another recent convert. She is AMAZING. I included a pic. She came to the baptism because it was her little brother! Sweet, huh? After the baptism we only had about half an hour, and we were walking in the street, see someone totally passed out. It was pretty sketchy, the first drunken lady I’ve ever seen, but don’t worry, we only stayed to see someone else help her.
Sat- CONFERENCE!!!!! Oh my goodness, we watched the womens conference in the morning…amazing!!! As soon as I heard them start to sing the hymns in english, I nearly started crying. And all the talks the entire day were so good. I got so many answers, personal guidance, and inspiration for our sector. Ridiculous.
Sunday too. And the best part, even though none of our investigators came, we had 2 MA come, and they both had way good experiences. I think my favorite talk was from Elder Corbridge of the seventy (The Prophet Joseph Smith), it was a major answer for me. And also Elder Scotts or Ballards (??) about LOVE. The love of the Savior. And how simple it is.
And today for our pday, we got to hike this HUGE moutain in Peumo, where there is this giant cross. It was the hardest hike I’ve ever done, but we all finished. Oh, and hna Ayre and I were the first hnas to reach the top. Word.
I love you all TONS and am so grateful for all of you! And like Pres Warne told us in our weekly message, with all that we’ve learned and felt with conference, now its time to put it into practice, little by little!!
Have a WONDERFUL week!!!! Cuidese chao!
