Guess what guys…. it happened! The half way mark! That is SO ridiculous. It makes me way happy to see the progress I’ve made personally, but it also goes so fast, I worry that theres a lot that I’m not gonna be able to do. But its a happy birthday anyways. 🙂
I feel really happy and content with the work we did this week. We were able to share our experience last pday of climbing the huge mountain (and losing the trail) with some different investigators and menos activos, and Hna Ayre and I love the analogy. Honestly, there are 2 paths to the top of the mountain (or eternal life). We can either follow the trail (keep the commandments/ our covenants, live the gospel fully, etc) or we can go our own way. We can get to the top, but one way is gonna be a LOT easier. But the beautiful part is that we can always return to the trail. Sometimes its hard, and it hurts (my sore legs can testify of that), but once we get to the top and can see EVERYTHING, it is BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING. And SOOOOO worth it.
Tues- We were able to continue to visit Katerine, who came to church this week, and committed to live the word of wisdom. We introduced her to more members, are helping her understand the gospel, and hopefully see how it can change her life.
Wed- We had our district meeting, and afterwards… the MOST AMAZING DIVISIONS EVER. Hna Jaramillo de Argentina came with me and she started her mission in Centinela, so it was fun to surprise some people when we visited. Also, we found 3 new investigators in this one day, plus had an amazing noche de hogar with a less active that introduced us to her friend and her kids! 🙂
Thurs- Another very busy day. We managed to pull off 2 lessons with members, which was a fight, but we did it. And another very special experience we had was with Domonique. She is less active and was baptized in the other branch, so doesn’t know anyone here. And….she smokes. So we are working with her, including a booklet and a calendar to help her read the Book of Mormon everyday, as well as gradually quit cigarettes. She has become a lot more receptive to our visits and really wants this help, so I know she’s gonna be able to achieve her goals.
Fri- We had 2 special moments in our 2 lessons. With Ana we watched the Restoration vid. She finally got it. “Jose Smith vio Dios y Jesucristo en la luz! (Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ in the light!)” she said. YES. Also, we visited a fam less active and the mom shared a way special experience she had this week where she had a dream and she got her answer in the scriptures. We read the same section with her, D&C 1, and talked about how blessed we are to have the only true and living church in our lives to guide our families.
Sat- One of my FAVORITE lessons that I can remember. We brought Pablo to a lesson with Paola. They are neighbors and Pablo’s mom is a really good friend. He was able to share how the gospel has changed his life and how he recieved his answer. And at the end, Paola did the closing prayer, which she fought not to do… but it was AMAZING. Seriously, that is probably my favorite moment in the mission, when we hear people praying out loud for the first time. Its seriously powerful.
Sun- Katerine came to church! Wooo! And that was it… but one is better that none! And I’m surprised at all the members that did come …. it was COOOOOOOOLD. Seriously, they dont have good heating in the church building, but we were all tough and bundled up. Ha ha. And later in the evening we had an AMAZING lesson with Vanesa, the wife of a less active. She prayed at the end that we can keep visiting and helping her family find the right path. 🙂 🙂 🙂 We just need to get them married, and we’ll be good to go..
